Villa Le Marie

An accommodation like a castle in Tuscany, a splendid ancient villa dating back to the 17th century situated in quiet and panoramic location on the hills surrounding San Gimignano with enchanting views of the Tuscan and Siena landscape. This accommodation in Tuscany underwent important restorations during the past centuries until it was turned, by the actual owners, into a delightful country residence offering beautifully furnished interiors that allow their guests to enjoy a pleasant combination of old charm and contemporary design. Some of the rooms of the villa are decorated with beautiful ancient frescoes typical of Siena region. The garden of the castle is decorated with charming fountains and ponds with red fishes and water-lilies giving a private and romantic atmosphere.
Distances: Poggibonsi with all kinds of shops 2 km, the lovely medieval town of San Gimignano 10 km, Siena 20 km, Florence 35 km.
At guests’ disposal: large romantic-style garden with century-old cypresses, lanterns and small paths, beautiful private swimming pool (15 x 7 m – maximum depth 1,85 m – open from 01/05 to 30/09) quietly situated approx. 50 m from the villa to guarantee full privacy, barbecue and small kitchen equipped for nice outdoor meals, toilet and open-air shower. High-speed wireless internet connection available (free of charge). Parking within the grounds. The access to the property is via a small unpaved but well-maintained country road. All of the bedrooms are provided with mosquito nets and fans.
Extra services: maid service available by arrangement. Baby bed on request (free of charge). The rental price includes kitchen and bathroom cleaning 2 times a week (approx. 3 hours each time). High-speed wireless Internet connection available at € 50,- / per stay.

Opening period
Villa le Marie is closed, every year, starting from November 4th to April 1st.
It is also available for yearly rentals.

Cooking lessons
Service available upon request, during summer time, for groups starting from 6 up to 20 participants.
The cooking lessons take place in the villa itself, and are held by an expert woman cook, who will teach you to cook traditional Tuscan dishes.
Prices: € 60,00 per person, for groups up to 10 participants and € 50,00 per person, for groups starting from 11 participants.

Dinners
Service available upon request. Dinner includes normally cocktail, appetizer, 1 pasta, 1 main dish with vegetables, dessert, coffee.
For 4 people minimum, € 60,00 per person, drinks excluded.
For 5/6 people, € 50,00 per person, drinks excluded.
From 6 to 14 people (maximum), € 40,00 per person, drinks excluded.

Wine tastings
Service available upon request for groups starting from 1 to 20 participants.
It takes place in the villa and includes wine tasting, accompanied with canapés and snacks.

Breakfast
Available upon request for groups who have booked dinner as well. € 10,00 per person.

Guided tours with wine tasting
It is possible, upon request, to book guided 1 day wine tours in the castles and farms on the Chianti hills. It is also possible to organise guided 1 day trips to Siena.

Cycling tours
It is possible to rent bikes for excursions on the hills around the villa, at € 20,00 per day.
On Saturday afternoons, it is possible to attend to cycling tours organised by Poggibonsi’s municipality, with historical and archaeological destinations.

Golf
Golf course with 18 holes 35 km.

Horse riding
Riding school 30 km. Possibility to organise riding guided tours.

Available upon request, € 10,00 per week

Extra maid service
Bathrooms and kitchen are cleaned three times per week (included in the rental price). Upon request, it is possible to book extra maid service at € 10,00 per hour.

Small/Medium size pets admitted within the property.

Short breaks
This villa is available for short breaks on April and May. Upon request, also on high and medium season.
