Villa Contessa

We had an unforgettable stay at this beautiful villa! The views from the property are absolutely stunning, and the peaceful surroundings made it the perfect place to unwind and relax. The highlight for our family was definitely the amazing pool—spacious, clean, and ideal for both kids and adults to enjoy the summer sunshine. It truly made the place complete! Our host was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay, making us feel right at home. It was clear they genuinely cared about making our experience a great one. Another lovely surprise was the wide variety of board games available at the villa, which kept the kids entertained for hours and gave us some fun family time indoors as well. Highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a relaxing, family-friendly escape in the heart of Umbria. We hope to return soon!

We were able to check off a bucket list item at one of the most beautiful villas in Umbria! As frequent travelers to Italy, we have wanted to take our kids and grandkids to see the special places we love in this country. The location of Villa Contessa is perfect for day trips or for sitting and relaxing in nature.
The villa itself is spectacular!. The owners have created a wonderland wherein a family can cook and eat together on an amazing vista deck, swim in the huge and nature surrounded poole, collect fresh eggs for breakfast and just "be". Gubbio is a historic "citta" for discovering a rich Gubbian culture and to enjoy local specialities. We enjoyed our daily cappuccino's and evening sritzes often followed by artegional gelato.
The Villa itsel has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, two kitchens and dining areas. The kitchens are completely stocked with anything and everything a cook will need for meal preparation and there is an outdoor room and patio area for those who like to grill. The bedrooms are well appointed and everyone in the family felt they slept well and long, sometimes too long when planning for a day trip! The bathrooms are each lovely and either have a shower or a tub. The property itself is a paradise in the hills, but still only 5 minutes away from town. Our family loved the fact that there is a really friendly dog who "owns" the property and kept our grandkids entertained as well as giving them a job to feed him!. There were also some new kittens to entertain us. What an absolutely lovely 3 weeks we experienced. We want to thank Oliver and his wife and Carlo for the kindness, assistance and guidance they provided! This is a wonderful family who totally made us feel at home and welcomed! Every need or question was taken care of. Carlo even helped us find a chef who would cook osso bucco for our son-in-law!
We more than highly recommend this property and this experience-a truly exceptional way to check off our bucket list.

Abbiamo trascorso tre giorni meravigliosi in questa casa vacanza, che si è rivelata una vera oasi di comfort e tranquillità. Lo spazio esterno è semplicemente fantastico, perfetto per rilassarsi e godersi la bellezza della natura circostante anche in inverno. Ci siamo spostati agevolmente e abbiamo visitato Perugia, Assisi e la bellissima Gubbio.
Un ringraziamento speciale va al signor Oliviero, che ci ha accolti con un calore e una gentilezza che non dimenticheremo mai. È stato davvero premuroso, coccolandoci fin dal nostro arrivo e facendoci sentire come a casa. Ci ha fatto assaggiare prodotti tipici locali, tra cui salumi prelibati e miele dal sapore unico. Ci ha consigliato, inoltre, un ristorantino del posto "Ristorante San Bartolomeo" che propone pasti di ottima qualità e prezzo.
Grazie per questa esperienza indimenticabile! Consigliamo vivamente questa casa vacanza a chi cerca un angolo di pace, comfort e calore umano.

Casa molto bella e ben tenuta con spazi ampi adatta a gruppi numerosi. E’ inoltre anche bene attrezzata. Consiglierei di migliorare l’appartamento al piano terra per quanto riguarda la cameretta ed il bagno. Il proprietario è stato super gentilissimo e molto disponibile a risolvere un piccolo problema.

Séjour d’une semaine en famille avec enfants et petits enfants. Espace, confort, atmosphère, le lieu idéal pour un séjour en Ombrie pour saisir l’esprit franciscain et vivre en mode slowlife.
De plus la famille propriétaire est accueillante et sympathique. Les produits qu’ils peuvent proposer, viandes, charcuterie, fromages et produits du jardin sont de grande qualité.
Nous avons quitté les lieux avec regret , en s’imaginant que nous pourrions vivre là pour le reste de nos jours.
Merci pour ces beaux souvenirs.

We had a very nice vacation at Villa Contessa. The house with the pool is great, the children had fun in the huge pool.
Carlo and Oliver, the owners, made the vacation really special.
Hospitality is very important to them, for example we get there vegetables from their garden.
You can always reach them if you need anything and they are really focused that all your needs are full filled.
As a welcome gift, we were given their homemade salami, which is really delicious, and on our departure we stocked up on this salami again.
Thank you again for the wonderful time and we will definitely come back for another holidays

Ottimo soggiorno e splendida location. Da consigliare

Una tenuta da sogno immersa nel verde a pochissima distanza dalla incantevole Gubbio. Gli ampi spazi interni sono arredati con lo stile tipico dei casali e illuminati dai tanti punti luce. Le cucine sono attrezzate con tutto il necessario per potere organizzare cene per gruppi numerosi. Gli spazi esterni, incantevoli alla vista sono ulteriormente attrezzati per poter vivere la tenuta all’aperto. Oliviero è il valore aggiunto di questa villa che vizia i suoi ospiti con mille attenzioni. La piscina (che non abbiamo potuto usare per il meteo) è meravigliosa e attrezzata alla perfezione. Insomma : tutto perfetto e al di là delle nostre aspettative.

Absolutely great house to stay with family, looking forward to come back again in summer time.

Wonderful location, wonderful villa and wonderful host! Everything you could ever need or want is present. Fenomenale! In the middle of nature. Unfortunately the road is partly blocked so shopping in Gubbio takes some time. But that is temporary. Olivier, the host, is a wonderful joyful man, he gave us a warm welcome. So very generous, we could take tomatoes and other vegetables from his garden, eggs from the chickens etc. From now on he will wear braces at Sundays as a gentleman ???

Staying at Villa Contessa is staying in an alternate universe. The property itself is out of a fairytale. It's tremendous with apricot trees, a full fruit and vegetable garden, pigs, chickens... not to mention the sweetest "pets" Kia, the dog and Virus, the cat that roam the grounds.The pool is out of a movie. The owners - Oliver, Anna and Carlo - couldn't be nicer. Ask them about pasta night and pizza night. You wont regret it! My husband, daughter (5), mother-in-law, and I spent the week at Villa Contessa and when it was time to leave, we were quite sad. Contessa's unique charm will charm you and keep you wanting more. Ultimately you look past the quirks (fluffy towels, more hangers, thicker mattresses, newer bedding would have been nice), and you feel privileged to have then experience. I'm glad we stayed at Villa Contessa. We would happily return!

Villa Contessa is perfect for a family stay in Italy. The house is very spacious with everything you need and so clean that when we arrived it was like some parts of it hadn‘t been used. On top of this the garden and surroundings are out of this world and we loved the swimming pool area and the balcony from the kitchen.

It is obvious that Oliver is very proud of this place and takes good care of it and the guests that come to visit. The feeling is that it is not for the good reviews but because he really cares. He welcomed us with nice breakfast our first morning there when we hadn‘t had the opportunity to go to the supermarket. He also left us pastries an other morning and visited us with a cake for desert one day. He and Carlo then also gave us both vegetables from the property and a salami. He was always supervising the property, cleaning the swimming pool area and making sure everything was working perfectly. The dog Kia then gave us company in the garden most of our stay and the 5 year old in our group fell completely in love with her always calling her when we got outside in the morning. She then always greeted us when we got home.

Location of the property is great for visiting some of Umbrias towns. We visited both Perugia and Assisi and then we went to Gubbio several times for supermarkets, restaurants and strolling around. We recommend giving this town a visit. Very beautiful medieval town with some great restaurants and not so many tourists.

Carlo and his family are perfect hosts and immediately made our family feel so welcome and at home. The property and home are impeccably cared for and every last detail to provide a comfortable stay has been tended to. The area is so peaceful and the views are heavenly. The Villa embodied everything we imagined and more for our vacation - the reality is even better than the online photos and description can convey. We celebrated one of our daughter’s birthdays during our stay and Carlo and his family even helped facilitate getting a custom birthday cake from a local bakery and hosted an exquisitely delicious in-home dinner with homemade pasta! Our kids (ages 6, 8, 9, 12 and 18) had THE BEST time and did not want to leave. They enjoyed running around the property, playing with the owners’ dog and cat, collecting eggs from the chickens each morning, and visiting the baby pigs. We picked strawberries and beans from the garden and hope to come back later next summer when trees are bearing their fruits. Villa Contessa is ideally located for exploring the countryside and magical medieval towns of Umbria. During our stay we visited Perugia and toured the Perugina chocolate factory. We spent two days in nearby Gubbio, visited a winery in Montefalco, and strolled through the flower-laden streets of Spello. Next time we plan to visit Orvieto and Assisi, which are also easy day trips from the villa. The villa itself is so magical that one could happily stay put the entire stay.

Siamo state ospiti di Carlo in occasione dell’addio al nubilato di mia sorella e tutto è stato perfetto! La villa è molto grande (in nove siamo state comodissime), pulita, luminosa e soprattuto situata in un contesto idilliaco, tra il verde e gli animali. Inoltre Carlo e suo padre sono stati gentilissimi: due host davvero impeccabili. Non vediamo l’ora di tornare in estate per goderci anche la bella piscina! Grazie di tutto! :)

Bellissima villa circondata dal bosco, tranquilla. Cucina super accessoriata, tanto spazio a disposizione; proprietari molto gentili e disponibili, mai invadenti: ci hanno riempiti di attenzioni! Mitico Oliviero!! Consigliatissima.

Casa confortevole, molto spaziosa e pulita, ideale per famiglie numerose e gruppi di amici. I proprietari sono stati molto cortesi e disponibili.

How lovely can a stay be? Lovely place, lovely owner and son, lovely surrounding!
The house is very spacious. Bathrooms have all necessities. Kitchen with a lot of gear to prepare a decent Italian meal yourself. Beautiful balcony and at another side a comfortable loggia. Don't forget the perfect place for preparing a BBQ. Everything was totally clean on our arrival. We had one day and night with storm, thunder, lightning and heavy raining (40 cm within 4 hours in the region!) with a breakdown of electricity in the neighbourhood. The owner took care of the problem as soon as possible when the weather was calming down a bite. All of this gave us perfection holiday feelings during our stay in Umbria. We are not a family, which decides to return if we like a house rented during our holiday. But maybe we should consider to change our policy on this! Wir haben in der Ferienunterkunft „Villa Contessa“ zwei Wochen verbracht.
Die Lage der Villa ist sehr gut. Sie ist nicht allzu weit von der Stadt aber dennoch in einer sehr Privaten Lage da drumherum keine Häuser sind. Zudem ist die Ausstattung auch zu unserer Zufriedenheit gewesen. Die Villa wurde in einem Vintage Stil eingerichtet. Außerdem hat es einen großen Pool, der ebenfalls sehr sauber war. Auch am Pool sind genug Liegen und alles in allem ist es sehr sauber. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Nur die Betten waren etwas ungemütlich, dies hat der Besitzer jedoch zur Kenntnis genommen und wird sich wohl darum kümmern. Es sind überall in der Villa WLAN-Verstärker vorhanden und daher ist es überall gut zugänglich.
Die Gastgeber Olivier und seine Frau sind sehr Freundlich und Hilfsbereit. Jeden Morgen kamen Sie Vorbei und haben uns gefragt, ob etwas fehlt oder gemacht werden muss. Sie haben auch gerne Ihre Freizeit mit uns verbracht und Nudeln gekocht und mit bzw. für uns Pizza gebacken. Alles in allem war es ein toller Urlaub und eine tolle Erfahrung. Immer wieder gerne bei der Villa Contessa.

This spacious private villa has spectacular views with plenty of outdoor areas for relaxing. The large pool is excellent with lots of sun and shade available.
Very helpful owners, they were available but not intrusive.

Villa immersa nella natura con un parco molto bello con piscina e un notevole spazio per barbecue. All"interno molto spaziosa arredata con gusto e pulita. Ad accoglierci il proprietario molto simpatico e disponibile .
Abbiamo avuto qualche problema con il riscaldamento e l'acqua calda ma, erroneamente, non abbiamo chiamato il proprietario che avrebbe risolto prontamente.
Consiglio a tutti questa esperienza in villa.

Luogo magico. Una villa meravigliosa, immersa nella natura. I proprietari, persone affabili ed accoglienti. Ci hanno fatto sentire in famiglia. E ci hanno fatto anche assaggiare i loro prodotti, carne, olio, miele, uova... Tutto buonissimo! Abbiamo potuto visitare buona parte della bellissima Umbria e la sera, stanchi morti, ci siamo rilassati in questo luogo bellissimo. Grazie, Oliviero e grazie Carlo. Siete stati splendidi.

L'host semplicemente fantastico un vero host a 5 stelle. La casa molto grande e ben curata nei minimi particolari e sopratutto pulita e con tutti i comfort necessari . Sicuramente torneremo .

Wir waren nun zum 2. Mal in der Villa Contessa. Für uns ist dieser Urlaub perfekt. Einzigartige Lage mitten in der Natur. Nichts und niemand in der Nähe. In ca 1,5 Std Entfernung die traumhaften Städte Perugia, Assisi oder auch eine Shopping-Mall. Nach Gubbio sind es ca 10-15 Minuten Fahrzeit. Ideal, mal schnell ein Eis zu essen, ein Kaltgetränk zu geniessen oder Souvenirs einzukaufen. Lecker Essen kann man natürlich auch.
Die Region Umbrien ist ursprünglicher, viel grüner und weniger touristisch überfüllt als andere Regionen. Man fährt eben auch etwas länger.
Der Pool ist riesig. Es würden auch 10 Personen gleichzeitig hinein passen...:-) Im Haus ist das EG mit dem OG nur über eine Außentreppe verbunden. Einrichtung ist völlig ausreichend. Typisch Ferienhaus eben. Aber alles vorhanden. Unsere Männer lieben den Grillplatz.

Lovely Place, absolutely great!

We spent a week in late September at the amazing Villa Contessa. The villa is even more beautiful than the pictures, surrounded by nature, greenery, mountains, farm animals in the distance and a wonderful pool (unfortunately the weather was too cold to use it) and gardens. The villa itself is also beautiful, very spacious, comfortable, clean and well-maintained with two kitchens and plenty of spaces to sit and enjoy the views, both inside and out. The owner Oliver and his son Carlo went out of their way to make us comfortable, bringing us a welcoming breakfast our first morning, and later fruits and vegetables, wine and honey from the estate. We would highly recommend Villa Contessa for a perfect holiday. The surrounding Umbrian towns, particularly the impressive Gubbio which is a 5-minute drive, make the trip even more worthwhile.

Everything about this place fantastic. Owner was very nice and easily accessible. We were even given a welcome breakfast basket, with their own eggs and honey. Highly recommended.

Das Haus ist sehr schön gelegen mit einem wunderbaren Garten. Die Anlage ist sehr gepflegt und sehr gut mit diversen Sitzmöglichkeiten (toller Grillplatz!) ausgestattet. Am schönsten war der Pool, der in seiner Größe wirklich toll war. Dieses Haus ist wirklich zu empfehlen. Die Vermieter sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Alles in allem TOP!

Beautiful villa in Umbria! Even more amazing than in the pictures. We stayed here with another family (4 adults, 4 children total) and had a wonderful vacation. There is plenty of space for everyone and multiple indoor/outdoor living and dining areas. The pool is huge and beautiful. The owner was very nice and helpful. Gubbio is a medieval town nearby with many great restaurants that we really enjoyed. Amazing property!

We had a lovely stay. The house is lovely, set in a beautiful location. Oliver and Carlos were very friendly and welcoming. The facilities were great - the pool is very large, and there is a large BBQ and wood fired pizza oven which was a real plus. We would go back again.

This Villa is perfect for those who enjoy their scenery. Its quiet location allows you to fully immerse yourself in the tranquility of the mountainous countryside where it is located. The nearby town, Gubbio, has all you could need regarding great food charming people and rich historical culture. Worth noting that you should plan transportation before booking as the walking is near impossible - this seclusion however, adds to the charm and personal homely feel. If driving isn't something you are comfortable with in a strange country (like us), an extremely friendly and helpful taxi driver, Marino, should be able to escort you to where you need to go. His knowledge and assistance was a key factor in making our dream holiday. We love to cook (albeit not very well) and were spoiled for facilities on the premises: 4 kitchens; even more dining areas; wood burning oven; and fresh herbs to pick on the go. The beguiling homely feel mixed with luxurious aesthetic is a combination which both comforts and entices. Whether its lying poolside surrounded by lush greenery or enjoying a hearty meal by the old piano. Our hosts , Oliviero and Carlo, could not have been more accommodating and welcoming without being intrusive, going out of their way constantly throughout our stay to ensure we had all that we needed. We were truly made to feel part of the family and enjoyed their company as much as their property. We plan to return as soon as possible with our entire family to this pulchritudinous paradise. - Hannan + Conor

Villa semplicemente meravigliosa, immersa nel verde, l'interno della casa è molto bello, attrezzata di tutto ciò che può servire, peccato aver passato solo pochi giorni!

Abbiamo soggiornato in questa struttura dal 28 al 1 gennaio e abbiamo passato uno dei capodanno più bello di sempre! La Struttura è favolosa, il posto è meraviglioso ed immerso nel verde ottimo per soggiornare insieme agli amici e scappare dalla rumorosa città. La casa è suddivisa in due piani che sono provvisti di tutto. I proprietari sono gentilissimi e alla mano.
La pulizia è ottima e i confort ci sono veramente tutti. Torneremo sicuramente.

Vacanza rilassante e da ripetere!

Dieses Haus ist ein Traum. Groß und toll eingerichtet. Als wir ankamen war alles sehr sauber und eine Schüssel mit Tomaten und frischen Eiern wartete in der Küche auf uns.
Hier kann man so richtig entspannen, großer Garten und um einen herum die Berge. Zum Haus gehört ein großer Gemüsegarten an dem wir uns immer bedienen durften. Selbst die Hühner haben uns täglich mit Frischen Eiern versorgt. abseits vom Haus befindet sich noch mal ein kleines Häuschen mit Grill Platz und Pizza Ofen, den wir mit dem Gastgeber getestet haben. Leider war der große oder besser gesagte riesengroße Pool schon nicht mehr mit Wasser befüllt, da wir Im Oktober da waren.
Der Gastgeber ist ein sehr freundlich und aufgeschlossener Mann. Wir hatten viel Spaß mit ihm.

Olivero, wenn du das hier liest noch mal danke für alles wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und wollen auf jeden Fall noch einmal wieder kommen. =) =) =)

Traumhaus für Naturliebhaber und Ruhesuchende, Panoramablick, gute Aufteilung und bestens ausgestattet, riesiger Pool mit Quellwasser, freundlicher Vermieter

Conforme au descriptif et aux photos. Décoration chaleureuse et aménagements extérieurs nombreux et bien pensés. Nombreux espace pour que chacun puisse trouver aussi des moments tranquilles. Les 2 niveaux sont indépendants et reliés par un escalier extérieur abrité. Villa calme et nature sans voisinage à 10 min en voiture de la ville.
L’hôte s’est montré particulièrement diligent et efficace pour résoudre les quelques dysfonctionnements rencontrés durant le séjour. Piscine et BBQ non testé du fait de la météo.

Il luogo è strepitoso, e nonostante il tempo non sempre favorevole siamo riusciti anche a sfruttare la favolosa cornice esterna e il barbecue. I proprietari sono stati disponibilissimi e gentilissimi ed hanno accompagnato i nostri bimbi a vedere gli animali che allevano e si possono comunque ammirare dalla terrazza. (pecore, capre... ). La casa è isolata e il luogo è silenzioso e perfetto per ricaricare le batterie... Unico neo la linea telefonica; prende solo TIN (ma per qualcuno potrebbe essere una scusa per staccare la spina... il WIFI c'è). Merita una vacanza anche senza usare la piscina...

Complimenti per la struttura eccezionale per passare qualche giorno di relax insieme ad amico e parenti disponendo di tutto ciò che serve.

Recently, we returned from a unique holiday at Villa Contessa (Umbria). By
this way, I wanted to let you know that we have experienced this as our
best and most appreciated vacation ever. We have never been so spoiled by
the owner. Mr. Oliviero has been so involved and so immensely lovely during
our stay. The past two weeks literally go down in history as two of the
best weeks of our lives together. The location, the owner, our stay and the
surroundings were so breathtaking that we literally left with tears in our
eyes. Everything felt so complete and amazing that this holiday exceeded
our expectations. Mr. Oliviero is truly a unique person. A more than
perfect host and a very loving man.

Location magnifica inserita in contesto boschivo fiabesco lontano da rumori molesti, ma nel contempo logisticamente ideale per visite ai tanti meravigliosi siti umbri e marchigiani. Pace e tranquillità assicurati, con un proprietario che vi colmerà di attenzioni e sarà generoso anche nel fornire preziose indicazioni per le visite e per approvvigionarvi dei tanti buoni prodotti alimentari locali. Piscina splendida, ben costruita e meglio mantenuta. Interni curati con arredamento di qualità e tutto ciò che occorre per garantire un soggiorno confortevole, dalla cucina alla biblioteca, sino al calcio-balilla ed al bellissimo forno e barbecue esterno. Semplicemente eccezionale!!!
Non c'è wireless, ma forse stonerebbe in tanta tranquillità e bellezza. Si tratta di quei posti che vorresti non cambino mai, tanto sono accoglienti, ben realizzati e meglio gestiti. Per il resto difficile immaginare miglioramenti, posto che se vi è spazio per farne sicuramente il vulcanico proprietario li realizzerà.

Toll gepflegte Villa in sehr grüner Umgebung (trotz Hochsommer). Sehr ruhig, schönster Blick. Die Schotterstraße war in gutem Zustand, auch wenn wir Asphalt vorgezogen hätten.
